posted 4/7/2010 5:31:30 PM My grandfather PVT Panzino, Michael J. He was in Co. D 714th Tank Bn. and listed as "Missing In Action" after a tank battle in Marktbreit, Germany on 1 APR 1945. If anyone has any information about this battle and what happened to my grandfather and/or the members of his tank crew. My grandfather's 1st Sgt's name was H.W. Shillinger. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Grand-daughter

posted 4/9/2010 8:47:56 PM Hello, I am sorry to read about your grandfather. You mentioned your grandfather was listed as missing in action on April first, and the events of that day probably have been written up. There may be veterans alive who can help you out. Please contact the Unit Representative to the Hellcat News.

There are several men from the 714th who have given Oral Histories. None of them are from D company, however. You might also contact John Critzas, 714 A and ask him if he recalls about that town.

I do not know which written of the book have been written about the 714th. You might ask Mr. Critzas or the Koenigs.
Yours truly, Mike Woldenberg
