posted 4/10/2010 9:12:43 PM  Hi, Silas was my father. I think he really would have enjoyed this site but unfortunately he passed away in 2000. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who might remember serving with him. He never talked much about the time he spent in the army. Thanks, Kevin

Ted can put you in touch with veterans who may remember your father. On this page, just to the left you will see: ORAL HISTORY VIDEOS. Check this for videos by men from the 494th Field Artillery. Ask him if there is anything written by any veteran of the 494th. Also, there are several books and memoirs about the 12th Armored under BOOKS AND WRITTEN EXPERIENCES on the left column.
