We did have a fun day. I was very hot and the ticks were aggressive. They are like the Germans, they sneak on you and when you find them they've attacked. We contributed to the deterioration of the waterworks. I removed one more brick. It is a spooky place, full of memories of those who spent a hellish night there in January 1945. If anyone cares to visit Herrlisheim or any other part of the battlefield I can be available provided I know ahead of time as I still teach. There are beautiful bomb craters in the Steinwald but I thibk they didn't serve their purpose. Contact me then by email. Lise
